Who we are

We never intended to be like other universities. We take pride in celebrating ‘The NMITE Difference’ and being regarded as a game-changing institution.

We’re an innovative new UK higher education provider, located in Hereford, a small city in the heart of the UK on the Welsh borders. We were founded to rethink engineering and technology education and positively impact the region – educationally, economically, and socially.

Our approach to teaching is progressive and connected – with contextualised admissions, active learning, interdisciplinarity, social awareness, and the integration of employers and the community in our teaching and learning.

  • Policy Framework Review: Assist in the administration of the Policy Framework review cycle.
  • Admission Policy Administration: Support the Senior Registry Administrator (SRA) with the effective administration of the admission policy, processing applications, maintaining applicant records, verifying qualifications, and facilitating selection activities and offer letter production.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Assist with data collection, statutory returns, and other data reports. Collaborate effectively across multiple functions including student services and academic marketing teams.
  • Pre-Arrival Coordination: Assist with pre-arrival administrative tasks to facilitate a smooth transition for incoming students.
  • Welcome Week Administration: Support the planning and delivery of Welcome Week.
  • Quality Assurance Support: Provide administrative support for quality assurance processes including module surveys.
  • Committee Support: Provide administrative support to working groups and committees as required.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Ensure effective communication with the Senior Registry Administrator regarding work in progress, implementation of developments, and emerging trends or issues.
  • Graduation Administration: Assist with graduation and alumni administration processes.
  • General Administrative Duties: Perform general administrative duties such as filing, scanning, sorting post, and archiving.

The role will be a great fit if:

  • You have previous experience in administrative roles within an educational or similar environment.
  • You have excellent Microsoft Office Skills.
  • You’re known for your organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • You can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • You have a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data management.
  • You can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with student information systems or similar database software is a plus.
  • You have an understanding of quality assurance processes in education.
  • You can demonstrate sensitivity and respect towards diverse student populations and perspectives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Essential: A level or equivalent Level 3 qualification in Business Administration or similar.
  • GCSE Math and English at Grade 5 or above.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations in the education sector, experience in handling student support services or related areas.

Our Values & Behaviours: NMITE aims to be a game changer. Its staff must be able to balance the need to create a well-run, self-critical institution where good governance and rigorous quality controls are in place, with the need to test (and push) the boundaries of existing practice to create new approaches to engineering education. The way we work together is crucial to this mission and our values and behaviours must reflect this.

Our values:

  • Grit and determination. We will be determined in everything we do, demonstrating the staying power needed to see things through.

  • Inclusive. We will respect every individual and every voice will be equally important. We will have a community of students learning with people from a variety of backgrounds and our staff team will be equally diverse.

  • Creative and learning. We will test the boundaries of existing practice and find new ways of doing things. We will always seek to justify the “new” in our title. We will try new things with humility, accepting mistakes and learning from them.  We will always seek to learn from experiences by sharing openly what went well and what went wrong.

  • Honest. We will always be courteous and respectful but also honest and straightforward when dealing with each other. We will not hide from uncomfortable truths and staff will be provided with the information they seek to do their jobs and to be well informed about our progress.

  • Curious. We will encourage scrutiny from each other and welcome questions from any colleagues – whoever they are and whatever their role. Communication will always be assumed to be a two-way process. Colleagues should always ask for information they feel they need that is not being provided and we will always listen to each other.

  • Aligned. We will always work to advance the institution’s mission and its core aims, whatever our role. We will challenge work that does not align with our mission. We will work to break down barriers between teams to ensure that more goals are shared and that we succeed together.
